the healing space

The Healing Space is a grief support group that provides students with a safe space to be vulnerable, while experiencing love and support from others around them. When the project idea was presented to me, I was given full creative liberty.

During the brainstorming process, I was drawn to and inspired by the Japanese art form, Kintsugi. It is the process of repairing broken pottery with urushi lacquer that is mixed with powdered gold. The object once broken is now considered even more beautiful due to the repairing process. 

For this project, I believed this logo design fit perfectly. It serves as a reminder that brokenness can be repaired, and despite the scars, beauty and value can be restored.
